Is MLT better than CLS? What about MLA v. OMA?
ICML issues the MLT and MLA certifications, while STLE issues CLS and OMA. Both organizations are internationally approved and recognized. There really is no bad certification in the bunch, as every certification addresses a niche layer of priorities and activities. Perhaps the proper question should be, “Which certification is right for me to optimize my job duties and benefit my employers and customers?” While there may be considerable overlap in general content, ICML’s occupation-specific certifications lean more toward lubricant end-users, the individual practitioners who work daily with hands-on lubrication, oil sampling, and maintenance of machinery—as well as those who manage such personnel and those who develop & manage lubrication programs. We do offer some guidance on our website under the “Which exam is right for me?” tab here. Additionally, there are a couple of independent articles describing ICML and STLE certifications side-by-side; these articles can be found here and here.
